The epididymis is located farther back at the upper end after completion, and can be divided into three parts: head, body and tail. If a cyst appears in the head of the epididymis, the patient needs timely examination and diagnosis. For cysts in the head of the epididymis, the more common treatments include surgery and traditional Chinese medicine. The current treatment methods are relatively mature and have very good curative effects. All the patient needs to do is actively cooperate with the doctor.
1. How to treat epididymal capitis cyst?
1.1. Surgical method
Since the operation is very small, the patient will not experience much pain. A small scrotal incision is enough to move, separate and remove the cyst, and the surgical results are often good. During the surgery, the doctor will carefully separate the cyst from the testicles and epididymis, and then remove it completely. During the operation, the doctor will try to be careful to avoid compressing and damaging the blood supply of the testicles or damaging the continuity of the epididymis and vas deferens. If the cyst is open or has been aspirated before surgery, the fluid will appear thin, white, or cloudy, and inactive sperm will be visible when examined under a microscope. Complications associated with surgical removal of epididymal cysts are minor and rare and include scrotal hematoma, infertility (if the epididymis is removed), and testicular atrophy if the blood supply to the testicles is affected.
1.2. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment
This disease is mostly caused by liver, spleen and kidney dysfunction, internal obstruction and accumulation of phlegm and dampness. The treatment is always based on resolving phlegm and dispersing stagnation. According to the different causes and pathogenesis, soothing the liver and regulating qi, resolving phlegm and removing dampness or nourishing yin and lowering fire, resolving phlegm and dispersing stagnation are applied respectively.
The treatment method for qi stagnation and phlegm coagulation: soothe the liver and regulate qi, resolve dampness and eliminate phlegm.
The treatment method for yin deficiency and phlegm obstruction syndrome: Nourishing yin and reducing fire, resolving phlegm and dispersing stagnation.
2. What is epididymal cyst?
Epididymal cysts, also known as seminal cysts, are most common between the ages of 20 and 40. The cause may be obstruction of the vas deferens leading to semen accumulation. The common site of epididymal cysts is the head of the epididymis, but rarely occurs in the body and tail. It originates from the epithelial cells of the efferent canaliculi of the rete testis. The diameter is constant from millimeters to several centimeters. It can be a single cyst or separate multiple cavities, but it is more common to have a single cyst.
3. Symptoms of epididymal cyst
Generally asymptomatic, sometimes there is discomfort or sinking sensation in the scrotum, and sometimes there is scrotal distension.
A round mass is touched in the testicle or epididymis, with soft texture, undulating feeling, clear boundaries, and does not shrink when squeezed.
The light transmission test was positive. The puncture fluid of the cyst was milky white and opaque, and microscopic examination revealed immotile sperm and fat bodies. After being left at room temperature for a short period of time, the originally immobile sperm in the liquid will become mobile.
B-ultrasound can detect fluid dark areas in the testicles or epididymis.
Dangers of epididymal cysts
Small epididymal cysts do not cause serious harm. Patients do not need to worry, just relax and work and live normally. Don't be mentally burdened. For patients with complications caused by epididymal cysts, they should go to the hospital for treatment, otherwise it will seriously affect your normal work and life.
Epididymal cysts may cause a decrease in male sexual function or even complete loss of sexual function. It may lead to dead sperm, no sperm, loss of fertility, and transmit inflammatory bacteria to your spouse, causing gynecological diseases. Testicular diseases that are not cured for a long time will cause loss of essence and kidneys, depletion of vitality, cold limbs, back pain, and premature aging.
How to self-massage an epididymal abscess
Patients with epididymal abscess should take a squatting or lateral flexion position, clean the anus and lower rectum after defecation, put a condom on their middle finger or index finger, touch the prostate along the anus and the front wall of the rectum, and touch and press the prostate gland regularly. At the same time, perform the levator action to make the prostatic fluid drain out of the urethral opening and urinate immediately.
Massage for 3 to 5 minutes each time. It is better to have prostatic fluid discharged from the urethra every time. Use soap to lubricate the finger cots before massaging to reduce discomfort.
The interval between each massage treatment is 1 to 3 days. If during self-massage, you find obvious prostate tenderness and increased cystic sex, you should go to a specialist clinic in time to avoid an acute attack of chronic prostatitis, and you should not massage again during an acute attack.
It needs to be emphasized that self-massage therapy is only a complementary treatment method and cannot completely replace other therapies. Other massage therapies include:
Massage lower abdomen
Press with both hands, right hand on top, left palm in the middle of the lower abdomen, massage 100 times in a clockwise direction.
rub groin diagonally
Put the five fingers of both hands together, place the little fingers of both hands against the iliac spine, and rub it diagonally forward and downward along the groin 100 times until you feel a warm feeling in the lower abdomen.
