Taichong point is one of the five major acupoints for nourishing the liver.

Which acupoints are good for the liver to massage?

  1. Taichong point

“"Taichong point" is located 4 centimeters from the seam of the big toe to the instep. It is called the most important point in the human body. Some people compare "Taichong point" to the human body's punching bag, because it is the original point and acupoint of the liver meridian, and it is the fire point of the liver meridian, which can dissipate liver qi and liver fire. Therefore, by pressing and rubbing the "Taichong point", the stagnant Qi in the human body can be flushed out to the maximum extent. “"Taichong point" is easy to find. Push the joint between the big toe and the second toe on the instep toward the ankle and neck until the end of the connection between the two bones is the Taichong point. The method of massaging is to carefully find the most painful point, and then massage from the "Taichong point" to the "Xingjian point", which will help to basically release the liver fire.

  2. Xingjian acupoint

“"Xingjian Point" is located between the big toe and the second toe. It is a fire point. The liver belongs to wood, and wood generates fire. If your liver fire is too strong, it will relieve your heart fire. The "Xingjian point" is an acupoint that relieves heart fire. In spring, liver fire is strong, which can lead to toothache, swollen cheeks, oral ulcers, nose bleeding, and blisters on the tip of the tongue. This indicates that the fire has entered the heart meridian from the liver meridian. If you rub the "Xingjian point" more, you can dissipate the heart fire from here.

  3. Dadun point

It is the first acupoint on the Liver meridian, located on the inside of the big toe, next to the toenail seam. “"Dun" means thick, and "Dadun" means extremely thick. Dadun point is also a well point, and "well" means source. There is a "Dadun" point on the edge of the big toe nail, just outside the second toe. “"Dadun point" can be massaged or moxibustion, which can achieve the effect of clearing the liver and improving eyesight, making you clear-headed and refreshed.

Zusanli point is 3 inches below the outer knee, 1 finger transversely from the anterior tibial crest, on the tibialis anterior muscle. When selecting the acupoint, measure 4 fingers downward from the outer knee eye, between the fibula and tibia, and 1 finger horizontally from the side of the tibia. Zusanli point is one of the main acupoints of the "Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian". It has the functions of regulating the spleen and stomach, tonifying the liver and replenishing qi, dredging the meridians and activating collaterals, dispersing wind and dampness, strengthening the body and dispelling evil.

  5. Sanyinjiao point

On the inside of the calf, 3 inches above the tip of the medial malleolus of the foot, behind the medial edge of the tibia; sit upright with your knees bent at a right angle to select the point.
