Redness, swelling and pain on the glans may be caused by chemical irritation, bacterial balanitis, or fungal balanitis. Patients need symptomatic treatment according to different causes.
1. Chemical stimulationIt may be that the patient has used some lotion with too high a concentration, causing redness, swelling and itching of the glans. He should stop using it immediately and wash it with warm water.
2. Bacterial balanitisGenerally, if the foreskin is too long and the patient does not pay attention to hygiene and is combined with bacterial infection, he or she will experience uncomfortable symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching of the glans. It can be treated with erythromycin tablets, tetracycline tablets, and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor.
3. Fungal balanitisGenerally, redness, swelling and itching of the glans occur due to Candida albicans infection in the female vagina during sexual intercourse. Antifungal drugs such as clotrimazole tablets and fluconazole tablets can be used as directed by the doctor for treatment.
Patients should pay attention to local hygiene and choose loose, cotton underwear to reduce friction and avoid aggravation of the condition.
