　　Donkey-hide gelatin is a gelatin block made from the skin of the equid donkey Equus asinus L., which is bleached and dehaired. In ancient times, it was named after being produced in Dong'a County, Shandong Province. Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other places have the largest output. Use raw glue blocks, or break the glue blocks into pieces and stir-fry them with clam powder or puhuang to make donkey-hide gelatin beads.

This product can be used alone for immediate effect. It is also often used with Rehmannia glutinosa, Angelica sinensis, and peony root, such as Ejiao Siwu Decoction ("The Source of Miscellaneous Diseases"); if used with Guizhi, Licorice, and Ginseng, it can treat palpitation and pulse knotting due to Qi deficiency and lack of blood, such as Zhigancao Decoction ("Treatise on Febrile Diseases").

　　1. Chemical composition: Donkey-hide gelatin is mostly composed of collagen. After hydrolysis, a variety of amino acids are obtained: lysine, arginine, histidine, cystine, tryptophan, hydroxyproline, aspartic acid, threonine, serine, glutamic acid, proline, glycine, alanine, etc.
