Testicular puncture will cause a certain amount of pain, but it is within a tolerable range, and anesthesia is usually given before the puncture, and the whole process can be completed in a few minutes. As for the number of punctures, it needs to be determined according to the patient's sperm quality. If the sperm quality is good, usable sperm can usually be obtained in one time, and then the spare sperm can be frozen. Some need to do it twice, once during the IVF examination, and the other time to cooperate with the sperm extraction during egg retrieval.

Precautions before testicular puncture and sperm extraction

1. No sexual intercourse one week before puncture, and be careful to avoid nocturnal emissions.；

2. Wash your genitals before puncture, remove smegma, and wear tight boxer briefs.；

3. Do not eat 4 hours before puncture, but drink a small amount of water.；

4. Anticoagulant drugs, such as aspirin, are prohibited one week before puncture to avoid major bleeding.
