Lower abdominal pain caused by cervicitis can be relieved by adjusting lifestyle, medication, physical therapy, etc. Cervicitis is usually caused by pathogenic infection, mechanical injury, chemical stimulation and other factors. It is recommended to seek medical treatment in time to determine the cause.
1. Adjust your lifestyle
During the acute attack, bed rest is required and strenuous exercise should be avoided to aggravate pelvic congestion. It is forbidden to have sex and take baths, keep the perineum clean, and wash the vulva with warm water 1-2 times a day. The diet should be light, increase the intake of high-quality protein and vitamins, such as eggs, broccoli, etc., and avoid spicy and irritating foods. Appropriate hot compress on the lower abdomen can promote local blood circulation, 15-20 minutes each time, and the temperature should not exceed 40°C.
2. Antibiotic treatment
For bacterial cervicitis, broad-spectrum antibiotics such as azithromycin tablets and doxycycline tablets can be used as directed by the doctor. Azithromycin dispersible tablets combined with levofloxacin tablets are recommended for chlamydial infection, and clarithromycin sustained-release tablets can be selected for mycoplasma infection. Antibiotics require a full course of treatment and cannot be stopped on your own. Gastrointestinal discomfort may occur during treatment, so it is recommended to take it after meals.
3. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic
When pain is severe, ibuprofen sustained-release capsules or celecoxib capsules can be used for a short period of time to relieve the inflammatory reaction. For those with abnormal vaginal secretions, topical preparations such as Baofukang Suppository can be used. It should be noted that NSAIDs may cause gastrointestinal mucosal damage, so avoid taking them on an empty stomach. Chinese patent medicines such as Fuke Qianjin Tablets can improve the pain of chronic cervicitis to a certain extent.
4. Physical therapy
When chronic cervicitis fails to be treated with medication, physical therapy methods such as laser, freezing or microwave can be used. Laser therapy promotes new epithelial coverage by carbonizing the diseased tissue, and there will be a small amount of vaginal discharge after surgery. Cryotherapy uses low temperature to cause necrosis and shedding of inflammatory tissue, so attention should be paid to postoperative wound bleeding. Sexual intercourse is prohibited within 2 months after physical therapy.
5. Surgical treatment
Cervical polyps or severe cervical hypertrophy can be treated with LEEP knife conization. Postoperative pathological examination can rule out the risk of cancer. Severe cervical erosion accompanied by glandular cysts can be treated with high-frequency radiosurgery, and cervical healing needs to be reviewed regularly after surgery. The surgery is suitable to be performed 3-7 days after menstruation. Routine leucorrhea and HPV tests must be completed before the surgery.
Pay attention to menstrual hygiene every day, change sanitary napkins in time, and avoid using alkaline lotions to rinse the vagina. It is recommended that combined cervical TCT and HPV screening be performed every year. HPV vaccination can prevent related types of infections. If fever, purulent discharge, or abdominal pain worsens during treatment, you should return to the hospital immediately. Patients with long-term chronic lower abdominal pain can try pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation training to improve pelvic blood circulation.
